Membership Eligibility

Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union is a community chartered credit union established in 1950. The field of membership is open to those having the following common bond:

  • Persons who live, work, worship, or go to school in, or businesses and other legal entities in the counties of Henry, Hancock, Madison, or Delaware in Indiana;

  • Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union;

  • Volunteers in the community;

  • Members of the immediate family or household;

  • Employees of this credit union; and Organizations of such persons;

A deposit of one share ($5.00) into a savings account makes you a member of the Credit Union! Plus membership is good for life, even if you or your family members relocate out of our membership area! Remember - Once a Member, Always a Member!


Important Information about Procedures For Opening A New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. All new accounts require valid and current government issued identification. These include a state issued driver’s license, state issued identification card, U.S Military identification card, or U.S. Passport. You may be asked to provide other identifying documents to validate your name, address, or date of birth.
