Your Funds are Safe with Us!
In light of the bank failures recently reported in the media, we wanted to reassure you that Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union (EIFCU) is in a strong financial position with healthy capital and that your funds are safe and federally insured. The operations of your community credit union could not be more different from the banks that failed. We do not serve tech start-ups, or venture capitalists. We serve our community and families in our local area. We invest our funds in YOU - by providing home loans, car loans, or any other loan you may need to fulfill your dreams and live your best life. We do purchase investments and all investments purchased are extremely conservative and fully insured by the U.S. government.
Our members should know that EIFCU is a safe place to save money. EIFCU has sound financial policies and receives high rankings annually from regulators for safety and soundness practices and management of risk. Deposits at EIFCU are protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund and insured up to at least $250,000 per individual depositor – the same as any other federally insured financial institution and backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. EIFCU is well capitalized and in solid financial position to meet the saving and borrowing needs of its members. We encourage you to visit MyCreditUnion.gov for more information about the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund coverage for consumers. We pledge our continued commitment to the best interests of our members and to the safety and soundness of the credit union.
Members should also be aware that scams have already been reported, trying to alarm consumers. In this sophisticated scam the scammers are communicating that a bank or credit union is under Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) review and the person needs to take out their cash from their bank/credit union or risk losing it. Please be aware of suspicious calls or emails at all times. If you receive this call, please hang up, and call us immediately at 765-529-6632 or stop by our location.

EIFCU Expands Membership
Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union (EIFCU) is excited to announce that it has received approval of its membership charter expansion by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The EIFCU Board of Directors adopted the charter amendment at their December board meeting. The approval means that EIFCU can now serve those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Henry, Hancock, Delaware, and Madison counties.
While Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union is financially strong and healthy, the Board of Directors and Management decided to explore a charter change to provide credit union services to more people, as we look to our next chapter of growth and expansion. “We’re excited about this opportunity to serve more of Eastern Indiana,” stated EIFCU President/CEO Leah Combs. “This area shares many of the same challenges, so we’re glad to bring low cost loans and valuable financial services to a larger community. For 71 years, our goal has been to connect people to the financial tools needed to help them achieve brighter financial futures. We’ve always been about ‘People Helping People.’”
Once a Member, Always a Member. For our Rush county members: once you join, you are a member for life, as long as you maintain an active account. EIFCU membership is still available to your immediate family and household members as well. Once they join, they also can enjoy lifelong membership. This charter change only applies to new members, not existing members. You will still have access to all the benefits of our products and services and with our online banking services, you are never too far away from being able to transact business on your EIFCU account.
We look forward to continuing our efforts to help you and our entire community achieve brighter financial futures for decades to come. Click here to begin the application process.
